Our Spanish (ELE) course is focused on getting our students to talk in Spanish. For that, we offer the vocabulary and grammar tools needed for a fluent and accurate conversation, applied constantly to oral exchanges with the teacher.
In order to do this, we rely on the "Aula Internacional" book series:
Of course, the books are a tool. It depends on the approach each students needs wether we use them or how we use them.
Levels
This course is organised in four levels: basic, pre-intermediate, intermediate and upper-intermediate, each of them corresponding with one of the books. Here is some more information:
Basic:
The student will learn to:
- Talk about personal information and greetings.
- Express interests, intentions and reasons.
- Describe places and countries.
- Identify objects, express needs and buy in different stores. Talking about preferences.
- Talk about their habits.
- Talk about food and interact in a restaurant.
- Describe neighourheeds and cities, and ask for directions.
- Talk about past experiences, and personal skills.
Pre-Intermediate:
The student will learn to:
- Talk about habits, duration and motivation. (Revision)
- Express likes and preferences, and describe a house.
- Describe people, physically and their personality traits.
- Talk according to social codes: invitations, introductions, greetings and farewells.
- Ask for favors and conceed permissions.
- Talk about free time activities and schedules.
- Describe places and past experiences.
- Talk about food preferences and habits, weights and sizes.
- Express their wish to do things.
- Give advice and talk about feelings (physical, and emotions)
- Talk about past habits and costumes, arguing and debating.
- Tell anecdotes and recall past events.
- Make recommendations, give advice and instructions.
- Describe a scene in the past.
- Talk about future actions and express conditions.
Intermediate:
The student will learn to:
- Talk about the present and the past (revision)
- Express prohibitions and obligations. Express normality.
- Talk in the phone, take and leave messages for other people.
- Tell jokes and retell stories, and sum up an argument.
- Express wishes, demands and necessity. Say if something is right or wrong.
- Tell anecdotes and express interest. Talk about cause and consequence.
- Express feelings; smooth disagreement.
- Describe the characteristics and the way something works.
- Make hipothesis and suppositions. Express different degrees of certainty.
- Write and comment the news.
- Give advice and recall imaginary situations.
- Retell past events, expressing knowledge and lack of knowledge on certain topics.
Upper-Intermediate:
The students will learn to:
- Talk about feelings and personality traits, give advice and suggestions, and talk about a person's or thing's characteristics.
- Write or retell a chronic of a past event, sequencing the events in the correct order.
- Consider different opinions and providing an argument. Establishing conditions.
- Talk about the requirements and conditions to apply for a job or contest.
- Write or adapt a theater play. Talk about movement and setting. Intonation with feeling.
- Express purpose, talk about promises.
- Poetry. Describe cities and towns, talk about beliefs and previous information.
- Talk about advertisement campaigns, using literary resources.
- Give their opinion on past events. Talk about things that happened or did not happen in the past, and their consequences. Talk about abilities.
